CaZo Mission
To revolutionize the perception of dance by transcending stereotypes and building an audience for the entire dance community, young and old, with accessible dance productions performed by a diverse cast of compassionate and supportive individuals.
CaZo Vision
To make all art accessible to a worldwide audience and teach positivity in all aspects of the mind, body, and soul through the power, energy, and community of dance, music, acting, film, and visual arts.
Founded by Bridgette Caron Borzillo in 2014, CaZo Dance Theatre has been mesmerizing audiences across the country with their unique brand of multi-disciplinary dance productions. They have meticulously produced 14 original, feature-length original stories over the past ten years, including:
Fate, the powerful journey of two couples traversing love, loss, and the glorious, unknown fate of their futures.
Bloody Mary, a frighteningly innovative take on the myth that follows the titular character as she attempts to quell her excruciating loneliness with that of a human child.
Once Upon a Bachelor, a hilarious interactive parody on the popular dating show, The Bachelor, that grants fairytale characters a chance to find love. Adding to the fun are pre-recorded “confessionals”, audience participation, and alternate endings.
Tough As Nails, a tragic true-life story of a young wife simultaneously struggling through IVF and her husband’s brain cancer treatments.
You Are Not Alone, a series of influential true stories told through the eyes of a high school student trying to find her place in the world while constantly helping others through the pain and embarrassment of social media bullying, sexual awakenings, and abuse.
Whether emotionally devastating, horrifically mesmerizing, or laugh-out-loud brilliant, all company shows also contain exclusive pre-show entertainment that sets the mood for the audience.
Prior to opening their own studio, CaZo Dance Theatre was an education resident at Mesa Arts Center for five years, opening up their remarkable dance troupe for site-specific work, choreographing innovative pieces for both inside and outdoor venues. One of their favorite site-specific pieces took the dancers into the water for a beautiful set of romantic creations. Additionally, CaZo Dance Theatre has also been featured in a variety of festivals and dance showcases throughout Arizona, Nevada, and California.
Featuring many dancers who may not fit the typical mold, CaZo highlights dancers trained not only in modern and ballet, but also tap, hip-hop, contemporary, and aerial. The company is also one of a very few studios in and around the greater Phoenix area that focus their training on partnering and acting techniques, rounding out an all-inclusive, comprehensive skill-set. Not only that, but over half a dozen of CaZo’s current core dance troupe are highly-educated, professional dance instructors (one of whom is also certified in special needs instruction) employed by CaZo Dance Company to teach the next generation of dancers.
Inspired by meaningful, universally relatable, true-life stories, CaZo strives to be thoroughly inclusive while bringing fresh, contemporary artistry to the stage with each new production, revolutionizing the way concert dance is presented.
