Kayden Openshaw was born in Flagstaff where she joined Flagstaff Youth Theater at the age of 5 and fell in love with being on stage. She started dancing at the age of 11 at Canyon Dance Academy where she trained in ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, and modern. At CDA, she spent many semesters dancing in Velocity Dance Company with director Cori Wall.
After graduating from Northland Preparatory Academy in 2022, she moved to Phoenix and began her college career at Scottsdale Community College. Here she has a strong focus in dance, but also has a secret passion for mathematics. At SCC she had the pleasure of dancing in Fusion Dance Ensemble and will be joining Instinct Dancecorps in the fall.
In the short year that Kayden has lived in Phoenix, she has found endless opportunities back-up dancing for Taylor Rene Holly-Wood, training with the Travettes under artistic director Travon Schake, shooting numerous concept videos with various dancers, being a part of too many flash mobs to count, and finally joining CaZo Dance where she is exciting to learn, dance, and grow!
