Joey began their dance journey at the age of 12 when they were thrown into a beginning dance class. After about three months they continued to grow out of their shell and began to become passionate to pursue a career out of dance. They soon joined their high school company at 16 and developed a love for choreography and storytelling. Once the pandemic hit, they were only 2 years into college and began struggling to continue working towards their dance degree after performing many shows.
Through this struggle they found CaZo as a neutral space to continue an outlet of dance. Joey has created many works throughout their dance journey, returning to their high school to teach and set pieces for their show, two of which were submitted to the Artists of promise competition, winning 2nd place for both works in 2019.
Joey continues to develop their skills and is looking forward to working with Cazo dance theatre!
