Briana Bryant grew passionate for the art of dance as a freshman at McClintock High School in Tempe, Arizona. She graduated from Arizona State University in 2018 with a BFA in Dance Education. In college, she trained in post-modern contemporary and urban techniques with faculty including Carly Condor, Jessica Rajko, Mary Fitzgerald, Marcus White, and Liz Lerman. She participated in workshops with renowned contemporary dance artists including Danielle Agami, Tentacle Tribe, Jesse Zaritt, and Kyle Abraham. Briana performed with Grey Box Collective in their debut show “It’s Not That Simple” (2016) and Father (2017) by Michelle Marji. She has dabbled with a wide range of movement styles including modern, ballet, jazz, gaga, belly dance, Afro-Cuban, breaking, vogue, and waacking. Other notable performances include dancing on the runway at Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art’s Avante Garde Fashion Show Mixer (2016), The Be Kind People Project’s Full Circle Fundraiser Performance (2018), Snow Queen (2018), and various undergraduate shows throughout her time as a student at ASU. Dancing primarily for other choreographers, Briana premiered a self-produced evening length piece, Homeostasis (2018), inspired by a life-changing accident she survived in 2012. After graduation, Briana began to work with CaZo Dance Company as a pre-professional while briefly working with The Be Kind People Project and Frances Cohen. With long-term aspirations of becoming a certified yoga and dance therapist, Briana dances to heal herself and others.
