


Amber Walterscheid was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. She attended Rena Backer School of Ballet under the direction of Rena Backer and Nina Marlow, from the age of 10, until the age of 18. She performed leading roles in The Nutcracker, La Bayadère, Sleeping Beauty, and original works. She spent her summers training with professional companies such as Ballet West, Ajkun Ballet Theatre, Central Utah Ballet, and Visceral Dance Center. She attended school at the University of Utah and graduated with a BFA. During her time there, she got to work with many brilliant professors and guest choreographers including: Lauren Anderson, Pablo Piantino, Jay Kim, and Melissa Bobick. She had the opportunity to perform in several ballet excerpts such as Giselle, Carmen, Don Quixote, and original works while attending University. She has also had the opportunity to choreograph on her peers and have her work performed during showcases. She is eager to continue her career exploring more opportunities to grow her choreographic and teaching capabilities.
