Candy Jimenez earned her BFA at Arizona State University and was awarded the “Outstanding Undergraduate Dance Major” award from the National Dance Association.  Candy continued her training at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in New York City.  Upon returning to the valley, Candy joined Desert Dance Theatre as a Core Dancer, Choreographer, and Associate Artistic Director.  Through her work and studies with DDT, ASU, and Alvin Ailey, New York, and Dulce she has worked with choreographers/artists/teachers such as Cliff Keuter, Elina Mooney, Neta Pulvamacher, Jennifer Tsukayma, Mary Fitzgerald, Nina Watt, Denise Jefferson, HT Chen, Billbob Brown, Marion Jones, Neta Pulvamacher, teachers of Donald McKayle Intensive, Diane McNeal Hunt, and Pamela Pietro.  She has worked with artists such as Lee Berger, Ernesto Moncada, Jack Evans and composers/musicians such as Azul, James Cerrachio, and RPM Orchestra and Judd Greenstein, Candy shares her love od dance with her students at Cesar Chavez High School where she has taught for the past 14 years.  Wanting more of a choreographic voice and wanting to make change within the dance community in Arizona, she founded Dulce Dance Company and has been the Artistic Director, Choreographer, and Dancer for Dulce for over 9 years. Candy was a Member of CaZo Dance from 2014 to 2015.
